your finger-tips. This is an amazing site.

 

You can find the common name, the scientific name,

growth habits, plant characteristics, bloom time, how

to grow it; and much more. In short, everything about

the plant you are interested in is available here.

 

It has the most comprehensive and extensive    

collection of databases I have come across. It is the

culmination of years of research efforts by the staff

of the University of Minnesota Libraries.

         

Previous to 1997, this information was accessible only

by paid subscription.  Since then, it is free to the

general  public.
